AND GOD SAID "I WILL NEVER AGAIN"

Introduction:

"And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma; and the Lord said to Himself, I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing as I have done.  While the earth remains, seed time and harvest and cold and heat and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease."  (Gen. 8:21,22)

I.      The sovereign and immutable God has offered his introduction for eternity.  Nothing in the above can be changed.  James 1:17, "Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above coming down from the father of lights with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow".

  1. James 3:17,"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy".

  1. Heb. 6:18, "In order that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to Lie".
  1. Titus 1:2, "In the hope of eternal life which God who cannot lie, promised long ages ago".

  1. Numbers 23:19, "God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent; Has He said and will He not do it"?

  1. Since His word is truth and cannot be changed David cried out, "Let my cry come before the O Lord; give me understanding according to thy word", Ps. 119:169.

  1. Ps. 119:65, "Those who love thy law have great peace and nothing causes them to stumble".

  1. Gen. 8:21, in short God made a covenant with Himself, that He would never again curse, the earth and never again would He destroy every living thing.

  1. We live in a generation today who is actually preaching and praying for God to come destroy the earth, rebuild it and give it to them as their inheritance. You have heard those kind of sermons and these kind of prayers!  But I remember also that the prophets warned the people of such as well as the apostles.  God had an answer for those who would try and foretell the future against His authority.

  1. Zech. 13:1-3, (1) "In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.  (2) And it will come about in that day declares the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.  (3) And it will come about that if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, you shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of the Lord; and his father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies".

The statement in verse 3, when the father and mother says to him you shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of The Lord; do we need more to stop the dooms day preaching that is now presently destroying the world.  With such preaching people have no hope.  Children dream of the boogieman, scream and cry the rest of the night.  Teenagers use drugs, beer, whisky, and cigarettes to try and calm their emotions!

II.      Please let us give God ample time to finish His discourse which began in Gen, 8:21,22.

  1. Eccl. 1:4, a statement of fact, "A generation goes and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever".

  1. Ps. 78:69, "And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He has founded forever".

  1. "The Lord reigns He is clothed with majesty; The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength, indeed the world is firmly established, it will not be moved".

  1. Ps. 104:5, "He established the earth upon its foundations, so that it will not totter forever and ever".
  1. Ps. 119:90, "Thy faithfulness continues throughout all generations; thou didst establish the earth and it stands".

  1. Ps.  148:1-6, "Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him all His angels; Praise Him all His hosts! Praise Him sun and moon; Praise Him all stars of light!  Praise Him highest heavens and the waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.  He has also established them forever and ever:  He has made a decree which will not pass away".  Refer to Gen. 8:21.

  1. Dan. 2:44, "In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever".

Comments in regard to this kingdom.  Since Daniel was giving King Nebuchadnezzar the interpretation of the kings dream, beginning at Dan. 2:41-43, Daniel speaks of the future nation of Rome and in verse 44 when Daniel says in the day of those kings (future) he refers to the rulers of Rome.

In Daniels vision Dan. 7:1-8, Daniel again mentions the 4 empires and the fourth being Rome and its eleven horns which represent eleven of the first rulers.  Vespasian the eleventh reigned from 69 A. D. until 79 A. D. and in Dan. 2:44, "The days of the kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed".

  1. Dan. 4:33, the long-term fate of King Nebuchadnezzar, His return and confession.

Dan. 4:34, "But at the end of that period I, Nebuchadnezzar raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is and everlasting dominion and His kingdom endures from generation to generation".

Dan. 4:35, "And all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth; and no one can ward off His hand or say to Him what hast thou done"? Please read verses 36,37.

  1. Dan. 6:26, "I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; For He is the living God and enduring forever and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed and His dominion will be forever."

  1. Dan. 7:13, 14, "I kept looking in the night visions and behold with the clouds of heaven one like a Son of Man was coming and He came up to the ancient of days and was presented before Him. (14) And to Him was given dominion glory and a kingdom, that all the people, nations and men of every language might serve Him.  His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed".

Comment:  Here God makes it very clear that the kingdom is made up of people, nations and men of every language which will never be destroyed.  Since the kingdom of God-Christ is made up of people from every nation.  It takes people to constitute a kingdom.  Destroy the world, you destroy the kingdom for God cannot destroy or annihilate the earth without destroying the people!  From Gen. 8:21, God has been consistent in proclaiming that the earth, world will never be destroyed.  James says of God there is no variation no shadow of change, James 1:17.  Heb. 6:18, it is impossible for God to lie.

K.    In reference to the establishment of Christ’s assembly, Micah 4:1-5, it is made clear by God that the new law, the new covenant, Christianity will not promote war, rather peace.  The Christians; those who walk in the name of the Lord will do so forever and ever.  Micah 4:7, I make the lame a remnant and the Lord outcasts (gentiles) a strong nation and the Lord will reign over them in mount Zion from now on and forever.

L.    Heb. 12:28, "Therefore since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken let us show gratitude by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe".

Take note the above scripture is in context with Heb. 12:22-27, and is in keeping with the kingdom spoken of in Matt. 16: 28, Matt. 24:14, Matt. 3:2,3.  "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  For this is the one spoken of by Isaiah the prophet Isa. 40:3.

Each and every scripture within this document has been researched carefully and none has been found to be out of context with Genesis.  Gen. 8:21, "And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma; and the Lord said to Himself, I will again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing as I have done".

III.      Comments and observations regarding the present coming of Christ and world burning or annihilation.

A.    Daniel 7:9 ff, "I kept looking then note Daniel was looking at the very time of the judgment mentioned here. I kept looking until the beast was slain, (verse 11) and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame". Now consider if this horn, this beast is a figure of the anti-Christian imperial authority, which rose up in the church, then must this horn, this anti-Christ, this son of Perdition reign till the final close of time, 2 Thess. 2:3.  If final judgment of this horn, this beast and the judgment alluded to are evidently to be at the same time.  As concerning the rest of the beast (that is the first empire which arose) that had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time, verse 12.  What! Lives prolonged for a season and time (after the close of time).  Hooray for those who teach the end of time is at hand; they know something that God don’t know.

B.    Yet the latter part of the vision is still more difficult to reconcile to the final annihilation of earth.  You see we have the universal reign of Christ is manifestly alluded to; and there was given him dominion and glory and a kingdom that all people nations and those of all languages should serve Him, verses 13,14.  Question is this to be after the final judgment?  O no I don’t have it wrong this is that which God showed to Daniel in his vision.  If any thing is wrong its those preachers teachers and writers who are crying out our destruction is at hand.  Just take time and study Daniel chapter seven and think if the vision is relative to the final judgment according to the commonly received opinion.  It will involve in difficulties, which can never be solved!

C.   Now dear reader; Just as sure as there is truth in the prophecy this vision, in its magnitude its fiery stream, its burning flame, Its judgment and its relative events are all to have power of the Holy People are destroyed.  Such being confirmed by the angels of God, Dan. 12:1-7.  Now I must challenge a different construction based upon the written word for if it is different man made it different.  2 Peter 1:20, 21, must apply.  In fact this construction applies also to 2 Peter 3:1ff.  Read the same language and construction in Isa. 13:1-18.

The general creation of the material world and the heavens burning is a hackeyed subject, which forms a part of almost all those things called sermons.  They are nothing more than scare tactics, which create emotional depression.  These people follows the past teaching of the Roman Catholic church; they know how to get you to reach deep into your pocket and give, give, give.  This violates the apostle’s instructions in 2 Cor. 9:6,7.

From where we started in Gen. 8:21, to the last page of this document in every place where God states the earth will never be destroyed. He has spoken upon the constituted laws of nature.  The world based upon these laws can never be destroyed by fire it cannot be supported by scripture.  You’re philosophical principles it is impossible that the most intense action of fire even for ages could not make the world a pound less ponderous than it is.  The common elements I was taught in earth science are not combustible.  You cannot set the air on fire earth cannot burn.  Everybody knows the power of water over fire.  More than three fourths of our globe is water, so say science.  Not one particle can be annihilated and not one particle can be made except by God.  Now we ask on what principles are the heavens to be set on fire:  I admit He who created can destroy:  But from Gen. 8:21, to this point He decrees He will not. See James 1:17.
